Upcoming Human Rights Meetups

Amnesty the Netherlands organises so called Human Rights Meetups a few times a year. On the 15th of May the Meetup will take place in Maastricht, on the 17th of May in Leiden. This is an excellent way for you to catch up on human rights issues in Europe, especially with regard to the upcoming European elections. Please note: these events are in Dutch!

Meetup Maastricht

The Meetups in Maastricht and Leiden are not completely the same. There will be different speakers in both cities. Among others Júlia Iván, former director of Amnesty Hungary will elaborate on living and working in Hungary and how the Hungarian government’s hate and slander campaigns made her work impossible. Dave Sheehan (Amnesty Maastricht) and Sofia D’Arcio (Amnesty’s student group Maastricht) will explain how you can advocate for human rights yourself. Also, there will be a performance by spoken-word artist Elten Kiene.

Date: Wednesday 15th of May 2019 Time: 19.30-21.30 Location: De Brandweerkantine, Capucijnenstraat 21, 6211 RN Maastricht
