Did you see the ‘Pass the Pride’ video?

Melike & Özgür, two students from the METU University in Ankara (Turkey) are prominent members of a LGBTI+ Solidarity Group. When in 2019 the annual Pride march was banned, they staged a Pride sit-in on their campus instead. In response, the university called the police who used excessive force, including tear gas, against the peaceful protestors. Melike & Özgür and 20 other students we’re arrested. If found guilty, they face up to 3 years in prison.
Absurd right?!

On the occasion of the Write for Rights, the Amnesty Student Groups took action for Melike & Özgür and expressed their solidarity with the LGBTI activists.
