Student Group Utrecht

Welcome to Amnesty International Student Group Utrecht!

We are the Amnesty International Student Group based in Utrecht (AISU), run by and for students who are passionate about human rights. Through campaigns, events and projects, we aim to raise awareness and spark meaningful conversations. As an AISU member (which is completely free!), you can join one of our two committees, the Events Committee or the Editorial Committee. From organising charity events to producing blog articles on urgent social issues, there is room for everyone. Each committee focuses on various themes and formats, providing you with the opportunity to get involved in what resonates with you most. For more information, please check out the links below.

Who we are

Franka Stauber (she/her) – Chair franka.stauber@aisu.amnesty.nl

Hey hey! I’m Franka, the chair of the AISU board 2025/2026. Although this is my first year being active within AISU, I’ve been a supporting member of Amnesty International in both Germany and the Netherlands for several years now. Last year, I did a research master in ‘Gender Studies’ at Utrecht University, but I’m switching to the Master’s programme ‘Social Challenges, Policies, and Interventions’ this year.

Outside of Amnesty, I play field hockey, enjoy running, and loooove dancing in all its forms. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone and working together this year!

Greta Czaha (she/her) – Secretary greta.czaha@aisu.amnesty.nl

Hey everyone, I am Greta from Budapest! I have been a volunteer at Amnesty Utrecht for the second year now (a real veteran I am haha), also filling in the duties of the secretary last year. Besides advocating for human rights, I love reading literature, dancing my heart out, or doing crosswords like a granny. I look forward to meeting you guys and working together on a better world :))

Anna Kasperovch (she/her) – Treasurer anna.kasperovich@aisu.amnesty.nl

Hello to everyone! My name is Anna, and it is my second year with AISU. Starting as the treasurer for the Gender committee in 2024/2025, I found it only logical to continue with this role on the board of the Student Group. My passion for human rights, in many ways, stems from my studies – I have finished a master’s programme in Public International Law, focusing on conflict and security dimension, but also taking several courses on interplay of human rights with peace and security.

Apart from being a law nerd, I am a big fan of art – it is almost impossible to drag me out of a gallery or a museum, and it is always my big pleasure to learn about artists that have been unfairly ignored by mainstream history.

Looking forward to working with AISU this upcoming year!

Arthi Ramachandran (she/her) – PR Officer – arthi.ramachandran@aisu.amnesty.nl

Hi! I am Arthi Ramachandran from India. I am doing my Masters in Global Criminology and passionate about Victim’s rights, especially those caught between violence against women and children. I did a bachelor’s in business administration and law in India and then a hybrid master’s in criminal law and forensic science.

I joined AISU as it was great to have students active in human rights action and as a PR I can take the voice of the group to the world outside of the student communities. I also had a podcast previously, so I think it’s nice if it’s revived for AISU again.

Apart from AISU, I am avidly researching on women and children’s right, write poems and movie reviews (when the mood hits!) and walk around Utrecht.

I look forward to this year with AISU!
Looking forward to working with AISU this upcoming year!

Stella Poulain (she/her) – Wellbeing Community Officer – stella.poulain@aisu.amnesty.nl

Hi everyone, I’m Stella, from France 🙂 I’m new in as Community Well-Being Officer!!

I have recently discovered the New York Times crossword (obsessed), added to my love for drawing and reading. I also love doing research on random niches (that I will abandon in 2 weeks), particularly criminal psychology. I also love Coursera online courses and am incredibly passionate about international humanitarian law. I just finished a Bachelors in French and Common Law, and an Erasmus in Brussels.

Can’t wait for this year with all of you!

Huseyin Ali Kudret (they/them) – Temporary Support Board Member  huseyinali.kudret@aisu.amnesty.nl

Hey there! I am Huseyin. I have been involved with AISU for nearly two years now, where I feel entirely at home while engaging in activism. I started as the chair of the Editorial Committee, then served as a facilitator of the Event Committee last year, and now I am a temporary support board member. Temporary, since I am no longer a student. 🙂 Consider taking over my role 😛 I am a human rights jurist, defender, and activist. However, besides that, I also do boxing, am interested in theatre, and am currently learning to play Bendir!

Let’s lead the change through our student power!
