Student Group Amsterdam
Welcome to Amnesty International Student Group Amsterdam!
AISA is one of thirteen Amnesty Student Groups in the Netherlands which connects students who want to learn about human rights, meet like-minded and inspiring people and become active in the fight for equality and global justice! As a daughter organization of Amnesty International, AISA organises educational and fun events to raise awareness about human rights and their violations worldwide. We also spread awareness online through informational campaigns on social media and our monthly newsletter.
You can become a member by signing up online. On top of that we would be thrilled to have you as a member in one of our four committees where you can take action. You can find all relevant information on our Instagram (@aisa.amsterdam).

COMMITTEES
Awareness Branch
The Promotion Committee is the voice of AISA, dedicated to boosting our visibility both on campus and online. You’ll be the team that brings AISA’s events and campaigns to life – before, during, and after they happen. From creating catchy print-outs and Instagram posts/stories/reels, to spreading the word via WhatsApp and sharing updates on LinkedIn and the Amnesty Website, your job is to make sure everyone knows what AISA is up to. You’ll also cover events through photos, videos, and short write-ups. If you have a passion for journalism, photography, graphic design, or video editing, this is the perfect committee for you!
Positions: Chair, Treasurer/Vice chair, Designers/Reporters
The News & Publication Committee is AISA’s broadcaster for human rights internationally. Your role is to make sure important world events never go unnoticed – from major human rights protests over landmark legal changes and social justice days to unfolding crises. You’ll be the team that keeps our members informed and engaged. Your work will range from creating Instagram posts to writing articles/reports and contributing to the AISA newsletter and the Amnesty website. If you have a passion for journalism, writing, research, or turning complex events into powerful stories, this is the perfect committee for you!
Positions: Chair, Editor-in-chief/Vice chair, Journalists
Activity Branch
The Event Committee is the driving force behind AISA’s social and educational life – you’ll be the team that turns ideas into experiences for both our members and the broader student community. Our events span from academic lecture-talks to social pub quizzes and hands-on creative workshops, with yearly favourites including the Write4Rights campaign and our trip to the International Criminal Court. While Amnesty’s campaigns provide guidance for our work, it is up to you to decide what events will fill our calendar. Whether it’s planning logistics, shaping programmes, or collaborating with other student organisations, you’ll make sure our events are impactful, accessible, and memorable. If you enjoy organising and seeing people come together for a cause, this is the committee for you!
Positions: Chair, Treasurer/Vice Chair, Planners
The Fundraising Committee plays a vital role in keeping AISA thriving. The primary mission of this team is to develop and brainstorm creative events that generate revenue to support the continued operation of AISA. You’ll have the opportunity to organize both social and academic events/longer term campaigns that reflect the spirit and values of Amnesty International’s mission. Coming up with innovative ways to raise funds through these initiatives is your main goal. This is your chance to work alongside passionate individuals who are dedicated to building connections, supporting Amnesty International’s work, and ensuring that our core organization remains strong and financially sustainable. If you have a knack for event planning, enjoy working collaboratively, and want to make a real impact for a cause that matters, this committee is the perfect fit for you!
