USA: People across the country rally in the aftermath of the shooting and killing of a woman in Minneapolis

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the shooting and killing of a woman in Minneapolis by a federal agent during immigration enforcement operations today. The Trump administration has taken the life of yet another person through the unnecessary use of lethal force – driven by its cruel, anti-immigrant agenda – and again blatantly lied about the circumstances.”

“The growing presence of ICE, along with militarized crackdowns on protests we have witnessed in recent months, have violated the right to freedom of expression and made communities in the US unsafe, harming everyone.”

“This killing, as well as all ICE-related custodial deaths, must be thoroughly investigated and those responsible for abuses held accountable,” stated Amnesty International USA.
