Masculinity Cafe by Gender Team x Student Group Utrecht

students in a group

This year, our team has chosen to focus on masculinity, gender norms, and mental health.
We aim to explore how expectations around masculinity influence emotional expression, contribute to stigma, and impact mental health.

On March 24th we are organizing in Utrecht a Masculinity Cafe which aims to:
-> Create a safe and inclusive space for open conversations about men’s mental health
-> Challenge common misconceptions around masculinity and emotional expression
-> Encourage collective reflection on how we can better support men’s well-being.

This event will be hosted by the gender team of Utrecht Network (AISU) and will feature special guests such as Emancipator, and two specialists on the subject Ilia ten Böhmer & Christof Abspoel.

About the Student Group Utrecht

We are the Amnesty International Student Group based in Utrecht (AISU), run by and for students who are passionate about human rights. Through campaigns, events and projects, we aim to raise awareness and spark meaningful conversations. As an AISU member (which is completely free!), you can join one of our two committees, the Events Committee or the Editorial Committee. From organising charity events to producing blog articles on urgent social issues, there is room for everyone. Each committee focuses on various themes and formats, providing you with the opportunity to get involved in what resonates with you most.
