Amnesty International - DOEN Awards

During the International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam (IDFA) and the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), Amnesty International and Foundation DOEN present an award for a film dealing with human rights issues. With this award Amnesty International and Foundation DOEN hope to put these films in the spotlight, to introduce them to a larger audience and to stimulate committed filmmakers. During IDFA and the IFFR, forum discussions take place with reference to these awards involving filmmakers, jury members, journalists, human rights activists and audiences.

An international jury consisting of filmmakers and human rights activists, will select the winners of the Amnesty International - DOEN Awards. This Award consist of a scholarship of € 5000 and a small release of the film in the Netherlands (spring and summer 2004).
